Traditional Chinese Culture in College Education
As is known to all, traditional Chinese culture is a great legacy left by our ancestors, which should play an important part in college education. However, it is quite worrying that nowadays the phenomenon of neglecting traditional Chinese culture is becoming all-pervasive
In my opinion, colleges and universities should be greatly responsible for students" acquisition of traditional Chinese culture in their study. Firstly, the authorities concerned should enhance the awareness that traditional Chinese culture is supposed to become an essential component of college education
Secondly, relevant courses and classes should be provided for students so that they would gradually gain knowledge of traditional Chinese culture. Thirdly, there should be some activities to arouse student interest in traditional Chinese culture.
But schools alone cannot ensure the final success in improving students" knowledge of traditional Chinese culture. Students should also take an active part. We should not only be proud of our Chinese identity but also pay much more attention to our splendid traditional culture in our daily study and life.
大学教育中的中国传统文化
众所周知，中国传统文化是我们祖先留下的伟大遗产，它应该在大学教育中发挥重要作用。然而，令人担忧的是，如今忽视中国传统文化的现象正变得无处不在。
在我看来，大学应该对学生在学习中习得中国传统文化负很大的责任。首先，有关当局应该提高意识，中国传统文化应该成为大学教育的重要组成部分。

Gratitude
I would shudder at the thought of a world in which people have no gratitude for their country society, family and those who have helped them, because, as the saying states, "Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
It is gratitude that makes so many human endeavors meaningful. For one thing, gratitude nurtures other virtues because it brings out the best in people. For another, it is gratitude that warms people"s heart and encourages us to do more for our society. For instance, soldiers sent to the front line would take a risk of their own life to protect their fellow countrymen out of gratitude and love for their country.
Ideally, one inch of help deserves one mile of gratitude. If it is hard to be so for most ordinary people, at least one inch of help should be repaid by one inch of gratitude.
感激之情
一想到世界上的人们对他们的国家、社会、家庭和帮助过他们的人没有感恩之心，我就会不寒而栗，因为俗话说:“感恩不仅是最伟大的美德，而且是其他美德的根源。

The Importance of Personal Struggle
Nowadays a large number of young adults live off their parents and are reluctant to work. This henomenon has become a nationwide social problem. So people come to realize that it is still of practical value to stick to the famous saying: A mans best friends are his ten fingers, which means rather than relyon others, you should believe in your personal struggle.
The saying can be illustrated through a series of examples as follows. George Washington, who wasborn poor, eventually became a great man by his own struggle. Although deaf in both ears, Beethovenpersisted in striving for his ideal. We need to recognize that parents and friends can help us for a whileyet they cannot help us forever. Life requires us to be self-reliant and struggle by ourselves.
Do bear in mind: A mans best friends are his ten fingers. Since we are young, we should do ourutmost to acquire knowledge, skills and necessary social experience, and develop our abilities. The moreaware we are of the significance of this saying, the more benefits we will reap in our daily study and work.
个人奋斗的重要性
现在很多年轻人靠父母生活，不愿工作。这种现象已经成为一个全国性的社会问题。所以人们开始意识到坚持这句名言仍然有实际价值:一个人最好的朋友是他的十个手指，这意味着不要依赖别人，你应该相信你的个人奋斗。
